A funeral for Jaleel Anthony Davis, 17, of Gloucester, was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, in St. John’s Baptist Church, Williamsburg. He died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, in Norfolk Sentara General Hospital.

He was born Jan. 1, 1994, in Newark, Del.

Survivors include his parents, the Rev. James and Christine Davis of Gloucester; mother, Donna Davis; maternal grandmother, Mary Davis; siblings, Donya and Cheyenne Davis and Elizabeth Albino, all of Wilmington, Del.

He attended Gloucester High School, Class of 2012. He also attended Ware Academy and Christchurch School. Jaleel participated on the basketball, soccer and lacrosse teams at Ware Academy. He was awarded Coaches Award 2007 and Most Outstanding Male Athlete 2008 from Ware Academy, and was also awarded Community Service Boys and Girls Club from Christchurch School, 2009-2010.

Burial took place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Del.

Whiting’s Funeral Home, Williamsburg, was in charge.
