Jacqueline Lynne Gibbs, age 56, of Hayes, Virginia, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, after a long-fought battle with cancer. She was born on October 15, 1966, to Curtis and Linda Kelly in New Jersey. Jacqueline enlisted in the United States Air Force right out of high school and, after retiring from her first career, continued to serve her country as an Air Force government civilian specializing in military intelligence. Jacqueline’s service to her country culminated in a second retirement from the 480 Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Wing (ISRW) on Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. Jacqueline was a bright light to all who knew her. Her contagious smile and caring demeanor brought happiness to her family, friends, and coworkers. The simple pleasures of life brought Jacqueline great joy. She loved working in her yard, kayaking, enjoying her neighborhood beach, and spending time with family and friends. Jacqueline was predeceased by her father, Curtis Kelly; her mother, Linda Kelly, and her sister, Tanya Berringer. She is survived by her husband, Chris Gibbs; her daughter, Kelsey Gibbs; her son, Benjamin Gibbs; her stepdaughter, Melissa Coy; her stepson, Christopher Gibbs; her brother, Tim Kelly (Katrina); her brother-in-law, Roger Berringer; many nieces and nephews and her devoted dog, Bubba. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Hogg Funeral Home beginning at 2:30 p.m. In memory of Jacqueline, contributions may be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O.
