Island Café is a new casual dining spot at Hayes.
Located at Shops at York River, adjacent to York River Crossing Shopping Center, owner Cole Crockett of Gloucester has created a dining spot with a relaxed vibe. Walls are adorned with works by local artists and mellow music by Jimmy Buffet and others wafts from the sound system.
Island Café seats 52 diners, with the restaurant open for breakfast and lunch seven days a week. Crockett employs 10 people at the Hayes restaurant and another 18 people at a sister restaurant under the same name he has operated at the Duke of York Motel, Yorktown, since 2004.
Daily specials are offered, with these used to introduce new items and to feature current menu selections.
