Island boys beat Cobbs Creek in base-ball

There was an interesting game of base-ball played here on Saturday, Aug. 1st, between the Cobbs Creek and Island clubs, resulting in a score of 12 to 3 in favor of the Island boys. The game was largely attended, there being about 500 people present and was greatly enjoyed by all. Come again boys and we will give you the best we have.

Reports from Gloucester are to the effect that the East Coast Utilities Co. expects to turn on electric power there this week. The gap in the pole line has been closed and it was thought that final arrangements would be made this week, the line would be inspected and the “juice” turned on. 
The East Coast Utilities Co. has bought the Gloucester Ice Plant and will operate it in the future. The company will open a stock of electric supplies at Gloucester. The line will be extended as rapidly as possible toward Mathews an...
