Ingram to retire from Mathews Circuit Court

Mathews County Clerk of Circuit Court Angie Ingram has announced her retirement, effective Aug. 1.
Ingram said her first grandchild will be born in May, and she plans to travel to Florida regularly to help her daughter, who is in the U.S. Air Force, take care of the baby.
“I didn’t think it would be fair to the county for me to take time off to be there,” she said. “She and her husband have no family there to help. Life is too short; you’ve got to enjoy the time you have.”
She also plans to spend more time with her 92-year-old mother and do some traveling.
Ingram is retiring after 32 years in public service, beginning in 1991, when she first moved to Mathews as a newlywed and got a job with the Gloucester County Circuit Court. After serving as deputy clerk under former Gloucester Clerk Charles King for seven years, she accepted a position as deputy clerk in Mathews, serving under E.
