Self-described “plantaholic” and hydrangea specialist Lorraine Ballato will speak at the upcoming Northern Neck Master Gardeners’ Gardening in the Northern Neck Seminar.
This year’s theme is “Creating Outdoor Spaces—Defining your Lifestyle” and will be held Saturday, April 13, at a new location, Lancaster Elementary School, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
“We are proud to be hosting this very popular seminar for 30 successful years, and this year could be the best one yet,” said NNMG president Lynn Osborn. “We have three marvelous speakers who will delight, educate and entertain everyone who attends.”
Ballato is a professional horticulturist and an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden, where she is regarded as the resident hydrangea expert. Her talk, “Success with Hydrangeas in the Northern Neck,” will affirm that no garden is complete without this queen of American shrubs.
