Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is sponsoring the Hug a Tree and Survive Program for ages 7-11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Beaverdam Park’s Whitcomb Lodge.
Hug-a-Tree and Survive is a program that helps lost children survive in the woods. It teaches children how not to become lost in the woods, and what to do should they become lost.
The program is free but pre-registration is required; the deadline is this Friday, April 28.
PARK AFTER DARK: Gloucester PRT will host Park After Dark from 8-11 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Beaverdam Park (Main Entrance only). Participate in fishing, boating or hiking after hours. All activities require head lamps. The fee is $5 and all rental fees apply; the deadline to sign up is April 28.
