Christopher Hutson and Ashley Chriscoe will lead the Gloucester Board of Supervisors in 2023. Hutson was elected chair and Chriscoe vice chairman during Tuesday night’s organizational meeting, which was held in the colonial courthouse.
Both men were the only nominees for the positions and were unanimously voted, themselves abstaining, from the voting of their respective positions.
A public hearing to amend the fiscal year 2023 budget was held during the meeting to approve additional federal funds awarded to Gloucester County Public Schools. The total add was $4.1 million from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (EESER) and Addressing Unfinished Learning/Extended School Year (AUL/ESY) funds. Of the $4.1 million, about $2.1 million allocated to the school operating fund and the other $2 million allocated to the school capital fund.
