Billy Hubbard of Cobbs Creek, held off Davis Lipscombe of Mechanicsville, in the Victory Lap Pro Late Model 30-lap feature at Virginia Motor Speedway on Saturday, to become the sixth different winner of the 2023 season.
Lipscombe got to the outside of Hubbard three times between laps 15 and 17 before Hubbard moved up into Lipscombe's line and found it to his liking as well. Hubbard stretched out his lead and went on to take the win.
"We have been trying so hard to get to victory lane; once Lipscombe got to my outside, I moved up and found his line worked for my car as well," said Hubbard.
In the Budweiser Modified 25-lap feature, Chase Butler posted his fourth win of the season, while Johnny Brooks won his sixth race of the season in the Limited Stock 20-lap feature. Steve Causey had his first victory of the season in the Truckin’ Thunder Sportsman 25-lap feature.
