At its August meeting, the members of the Central Village Homemakers Club enjoyed a historical program presented by Tom Robinson. The president of the Mathews Museum gave a program on the life of General Andrew Lewis (1721-1781). Lewis was the American commander of troops who drove British royal governor Lord Dunmore from Virginia at the Battle of Gwynn’s Island in 1776.
