Homemade ice cream

The Chesapeake Bay Circle of The King’s Daughters and Sons met last Thursday for its monthly luncheon meeting. Betty Stewart turned on her electric ice cream freezer to churn the peach ice cream she had made before the meeting started. Everyone enjoyed the frozen treat after the meeting, while Stewart demonstrated the art of making chocolate ice cream (photo at left). Above, Mary Marshall holds the dasher while Leah (left) and Macie Evans anticipate eating the ice cream. Betty is also shown at the stove cooking the custard while Linda Ruth Revere scoops out the ice cream.
