‘Home & Away’ match

The Piankatank River Ladies’ Golf Association hosted teams from Indian Creek (Kilmarnock) and Viniterra (New Kent) golf clubs in “Home & Away” match play competition at the Piankatank River Golf Club, Hartfield, on May 8. Each club fielded six two-player teams. The Viniterra ladies pulled out a one-point lead against the Piankatank ladies, 12-11. The Indian Creek ladies scored four points. Two future “Home & Away” matches will be held later this summer at the visiting team’s golf venues where the culmination of the scores from the three total matches will determine a winner. A highlight of the day was a hole-in-one made by Chrystal Welch of Urbanna, playing for the PRLGA. She aced the #5 hole, using a 7 iron for 79 yards.
