Home again from a joyful trip to Baltimore, Nation’s Capital

The Susan correspondent reports, it will be gratifying to certain gentlemen to know that Misses Eva Armistead, Ellen Williams, Susie Williams, Mary L. and Mattie Hudgins, who were reported in THE JOURNAL as having gone on a trip to Baltimore and Washington a short while ago, have all returned safe and single. It is needless to say that they had a good time, for their temperament is such as to enable them to make their own good time under any reasonable circumstances.
Vandelia Hawkins, wife of Henry Hawkins, had been out washing and returned seeming to be as well as usual, and while attending to some of her household duties complained of feeling giddy, and dropped to the floor and was dead in a few minutes. She was buried the next day, Friday, the 22nd.
