Holiday events this weekend in Yorktown

Christmas season is rapidly approaching, and Yorktown is planning a number of activities to celebrate the holiday.
A tree lighting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Riverwalk Landing. The public is invited to join a candlelight procession that will meet at the Victory Monument at 6:30 p.m. and walk down to the waterfront to watch the lights come on.
The Christmas Market on Main will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Yorktown Historical Museum is making colonial decorations again this year (Saturday only), with instructions given on how to make cloved fruit.
A Viking Yule Tide Celebration will be held at the museum from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, with exhibits on Christmas traditions and crafts.
A lighted boat parade will be held beginning around 6:30 p.m. Saturday with potluck and singing at the museum.
On Sunday, there will be Cookies with Santa Claus at York Hall from 1-4 p.m.
