Timberneck House will be the location of the ninth annual Historic House Party, a fundraiser of the Fairfield Foundation.
Timberneck, a Gloucester County landmark located at Machicomoco State Park, is the site of ongoing restoration efforts coordinated by the Fairfield Foundation.
The party takes place from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, with food catered by Shelly Williams. Music and house tours are part of the program.
Timberneck was constructed for the Catletts in the 1790s, and it remained in the family until the early 2000s. It is a large and well preserved example of a Federal period home, a release said. Prior to 1792 the land was part of the extensive Rosewell plantation. There are also significant Virginia Indian sites on the property that reveal sustained use of this land for centuries.
