Mathews Memorial Library’s annual Highland Games were held last Friday at the Piankatank Ruritan Club at Hudgins. The day included a performance and lead-in march to the games by the Kilmarnock and District Bagpipe Band, above, and a variety of games, such as the Sheaf Toss, at right, with Ellie Sowers attempting to toss a gunny sack over a pole that’s well above her head.
