Henry B. Scott, 75, of Saluda, departed this life Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at the Prince George Hospital Center in Cheverly, Md., as a result of injuries from a tractor-trailer accident.
He was an Army veteran, member of the Immanuel Baptist Church, Saluda, and a truck driver for over 50 years, for various companies; with his final employment with the Pitts Lumber Company.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rose L. Scott; six daughters, Virginia Moore (William), Zelma Cotton (Michael), Evelyn Mathis, Bonita Wilson (Samuel), Nicole Howe (Peter) and Celestine Scott; three sons, Kenneth Scott, Ronald Scott (Marguerite) and Derrick Scott (Michelle); four sisters, Evelyn Sutherlin, Emily Hodges, Lorraine Gladden (Charles) and Linda D. Scott; two brothers, H. Benjamin Scott (Janie) and Harold A. Scott (Juanita); 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
The homegoing celebration will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Saluda. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. On Thursday, viewing will be held from noon-3 p.m. at the J.K. Redmond Funeral Home, Shacklefords; the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at the church. On Friday, viewing will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church.
