Helping Kids Cope with Anxiety topic of free workshop at Page

A free workshop for parents called Helping Kids Cope with Anxiety will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Page Middle School auditorium.
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Aureen Pinto Wagner, an anxiety expert, author, clinical child psychologist and director of the Anxiety Wellness Center in Cary, North Carolina. Wagner is also an adjunct associate professor of psychiatry at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
Anxiety is the most common emotional problem in children and teens, and can sidetrack youngsters from learning, making friends and having fun, according to a press release.
Wagner will discuss the differences between normal anxiety and problematic anxiety, red flags and warning signs at home and school, practical tools for anxiety at home and school, and strategies that do not help.
