Helen Rae Davie Gordon, 91, of Kenly, N.C., passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., to the late Mary Holt and George Davie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Powell; daughter, Helen M. Manuel; son-in-law, Byard W. Harris Sr., and all of her siblings. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sarah Harris of Gloucester, Va.; son, George T. Powell and wife Darlene of Florida; son, William E. Powell and wife Reba of Aurora, N.C.; son-in-law, James Manuel of Chesapeake, Va.; daughter, Carolyn A. Hodge and husband Larry of Kenly, N.C.; 15 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services were held Monday, March 16, 2015 in Virginia Beach, Va.
