Heathsville Farmers’ Market gearing up for season

The Heathsville Farmers’ Market is gearing up for the 2023 season, and the schedule of events has been set.
This popular local market is held on the third Saturday of the month, April 15 through Oct. 21, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is located just off Route 360, behind the old Northumberland Courthouse in Heathsville, on the grounds of Historic Rice’s Hotel / Hughlett’s Tavern.
Each market has a theme. In April, there will be an Earth Day celebration, courtesy of Northumberland Association for Progressive Stewardship, and a wine tasting festival (11 a.m.-4 p.m.). May’s market will include a flower show being put on by the Chesapeake Bay Garden Club. In June, a free concert by the five-piece ensemble “At Water’s Edge” will take place on the Tavern Green, courtesy of the Rappahannock Concert Association.
July is always “Kids Day,” which includes fun activities for children, like making a wooden boat with the Tavern Woodworkers Guild. An Antique and Classic Car show will take place at the August ...
