The Mathews County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a request for a conditional use permit during its meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the historic courthouse on Court Street.
Property owners Mark and Elaine Sopko, in conjunction with applicant Joseph M. Perdue, have requested a CUP to allow for a grass field runway, which is classified as an aviation facility, on 29.21 acres owned by the Sopkos at the corner of Route 14 and Fickle Fen Road in Mathews. The property is zoned Rural.
