Hauser named Chief Academic Officer for West Point Schools

Dr. Amy Page Hauser of Gwynn has been appointed to the top instructional position for West Point Public Schools.
Hauser was previously a teacher, central office administrator, and assistant principal for Mathews County Public Schools before coming to West Point in 2018. While in West Point, Hauser was principal of West Point Elementary School, where during her tenure, the school moved from being a top 10 percent school in Virginia to one of three top 1 percent elementary schools in the state. At the same time, teacher retention at West Point Elementary School held steady at 100 percent.
For the past school year, Hauser has worked as the Specialist for Teaching and Learning where she has led the charge to work with teachers and staff pre-K through 12th grades to close learning gaps for students resulting from Covid.
