Harold Milton Jarvis, 59, of Hayes, quietly departed this life on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Riverside Convalescent Center, Saluda.
He is survived by his wife, Jane B. Jarvis; son, Harold Milton Jarvis Jr. (Tasha), Hudgins; one step-daughter, Nancy Walker of Yorktown; three step-sons, William Walker, Leon Walker and Larry Walker of Gloucester; parents, Harold and Alice Jarvis, Port Haywood; sisters, Sharon Lawrence, Oxon Hill, Md., Cynthia Hayes, Cappahosic; brothers, Tyrone Jarvis, Port Haywood, Norman Jarvis, Texarkana, Texas, James “JC” Jarvis, Cobbs Creek, Michael Jarvis, Hampton; a grandson; seven step-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Milton was employed as head custodian for the Gloucester Public Schools: T.C. Walker, Achilles, and Gloucester Middle School for 34 years. He was also an employee with the maintenance crew of Colonial Point Apartments in Gloucester Point.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Newington Baptist Church, Gloucester. Burial will follow in the Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton. Viewing will be held on Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Knight Funeral Home, Mathews, from 1-8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 21, at the church from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
