Gloucester County’s Residential Household Harmful Waste Collection Day will be held from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at the Hayes Convenience Center on Guinea Road.
This special collection allows Gloucester residents to rid their home of hazardous waste safely. Residents can dispose of the following:
—Automobile hazardous waste: antifreeze, brake and transmission fluids, gasoline and batteries;
—Painting supplies: paints, thinners, epoxy and wood preservatives;
—Gardening/outdoor supplies: pesticides, herbicides, pool chemicals, etc.; and,
—Household items: small propane canisters and propane tanks for grills, fire extinguishers, toxic household cleaners, drain cleaners, mercury, batteries, electronics, etc.
Harmful Waste Collection Day is held twice a year, in April and again in October. This event is sponsored by Waste Management and Gloucester’s Clean Community Office.
