Newington Baptist Church celebrated its 150th anniversary on Sunday, October 1. The church choir (I’m one of them) opened by singing Oh Praise (The Only One).
Once we were off the stage, the Rev. Glenn Bohannon started singing his song on the piano. Eddie Heath followed, introducing our special speaker. Dr. John Upton came up to preach the sermon from Matthew 24. After worship service we went down to the gymnasium for the catered luncheon. While we were eating, Pastor Chris went around with the microphone having most of us tell about our time at the church. Pastor Mike showed off the t-shirts that he got from different places he was over the years. Heather King put on a sketch based on our future church anniversaries.
