Members of the Middle Peninsula Amateur Radio Club were active on the eve of Dr. Walter Reed’s birthday on Saturday from the historical site of his birth in Belroi. Reed’s story of the conquest of yellow fever and some of the history of Gloucester was shared with 65 ham radio operators in 20 states and one Canadian province. Commemorative QSL cards confirming the contact will be sent to those hams who participated “on the air” in this special event.
