Hallieford man stops to help those in need

Eddie Greene of Hallieford helps whenever he comes across someone in need.
Not too long ago, he took his dog “Donovan” to Beaverdam Park, Gloucester, for a four-mile walk on the trails. Greene was almost back to the parking lot when he noticed a woman sitting on a bench, visibly upset. He stopped to ask her what was wrong and she told him that her dog had pulled her leash out of her hand and ran off to the trails.
Instead of calling somebody else to find her dog, Greene took matters into his own hands. He told her not to call the park rangers because he would find her dog himself. Greene and Donovan hiked another six miles and found the dog on the horse trail. When the pair returned with her dog, she was elated.
“I don’t do anything special,” said Greene.
