Hall seeks fourth term as Commissioner of Revenue

Mathews Commissioner of the Revenue Les Hall, 74, of New Point, has announced that he is seeking a fourth term in office and will run as an independent candidate in the Nov. 7 election.
Hall said that since taking office in 2012 he has been an advocate for residents of Mathews and remains committed to treating everyone equally and respectfully.
While in office, Hall has been active in the Commissioners of the Revenue Association of Virginia, has served as chairman and/or a member of numerous committees, and has continued education for his staff, said a press release. In addition, he has streamlined various internal practices, including instituting a simplified method for calculating business personal property, updating how personal property records are analyzed to ensure accurate assessments, maintaining more detailed real estate transfer records, and keeping an open-door policy for the people he serves.
