Gwendolyn Hall “Singie” Godsey, 92, of Gwynn, Virginia, passed away from this life to the next on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. She was born on April 10, 2023 on Gwynn’s Island to Mary Elizabeth and James E. Hall.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sleet Godsey; her daughter, Gloria Godsey, and two brothers, James T. Hall and Carlton Brownley.

Singie is survived by her daughters, Mary Godsey and Ellen Hudson (Jim); granddaughter, Kate Ohlhausen (Neil); great-granddaughter, Hannah; and her brothers, Larry C. Brownley (Ruth) and Dalton D. Brownley Jr.

Graveside services were held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Gwynn’s Island Cemetery.

Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, assisted the family.
