GVFR Open House

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad, Inc., held an open house Sunday at Station 1 on Main Street. People got a chance to come out to see the apparatus, take the children on a fire truck ride around Gloucester Court House, visit with Sparky the Fire Dog, and learn about all GVFRS does for the community. The open house also provided the opportunity to teach young people an important lesson. Here, firefighter A.J. Hamilton is dressed in turnout gear, including an air mask, so that 2-year-old Palmer Chianese (held by mom, Christa) knows not to be frightened if she sees someone like that in her house in case there’s a fire.
