After missing the last two years due to the pandemic, the Guinea Jubilee returns this weekend, with the popular community festival to be held from 3-10 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. to 9:15 p.m. Saturday in and around the Abingdon Ruritan Club grounds in Bena.
Arts and crafts and food booths open at 3 p.m. Friday, with the singing Mullins Sisters taking the stage at 7.
Saturday’s activities begin early, with registration for the Guinea Jubilee 5K and Kids Run starting at 7 a.m. The 5K begins at 8, with the Kids Crabby Fun Run kicking off at 8:30.
The booths open at 9 a.m., which is also when the car show begins. The firemen’s parade, led by grand marshal Jackie Bonniville, will begin at noon, with participants traveling from Union Baptist Church along Guinea Road to the Abingdon Ruritan Club grounds.
Saturday’s entertainment begins at 1 p.m. with Lana Puckett and Kim Persons, followed at 3:15 with Ron Fetner and Amelia Hogge at 5:15. Crazy-X will play at 6. The day’s events also include the a...
