Guinea Heritage Day to be held Sunday

Guinea Heritage Day, a celebration of all things Guinea, will be held Sunday afternoon at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the program begins at 2.
This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Future.”
The program will begin with a welcome statement and overview of the Guinea Heritage Association. Past grand marshals will be recognized, as well as the scholarship and student art contest winners. Winners for the Guinea Jubilee Pageant will also be introduced, and the 2024 Guinea Jubilee T-shirt will also be unveiled.
Also announced during the program will be the 2024 grand marshal. There will be a display about the grand marshal and their life at Guinea Heritage Day.
There will be a homemade cake silent auction, as well as T-shirts available for sale. Guinea cake bakers will be recognized and auction winners will be announced during the program.
