Guinea Heritage Day Sunday

Guinea Heritage Day will be held Sunday at Achilles Elementary School, starting at 2 p.m.
Heritage Day is a preliminary to the Guinea Jubilee, to be held at the end of the month, and celebrates the people and history of the Guinea section of Gloucester County.
Sunday’s events will include announcement of the fine art poster winner, photography contest winner, and the 2019 Guinea Jubilee grand marshal.
In addition, Heritage Day will include a pageant that starts at 3:30 p.m., for selection of the 2019 Miss Guinea Jubilee.
Heritage Day is an opportunity for the sponsoring Guinea Heritage Association to raise funds to benefit the Buck’s Store Museum and other preservation work in the heritage of Guinea.
A leading part of this is the silent auction of cakes donated by community cooks. Also, new 2019 merchandise and a new cookbook (see page 1B) will be for sale.
Scholarship winners, past grand marshals, and student art contest winners will all be named.
