110 YEARS AGOThursday, Feb. 9, 1911from the Mathews Journal
The Battery Cemetery Benefit Society, which has for its object the maintenance of Trinity church yard, through the courtesy of the Mathews Journal desires to thank those citizens who contributed toward the fund for the embellishment of the grounds for the year 1910, and to remind all those who have lots in the Cemetery that the “Secretary” is now ready to receive contributions for this purpose for the season of 1911.
The work of cutting the grass alone, costs $25 per annum, and cannot be continued without money.
The available cash in the treasury will not suffice for this purpose, but a small contribution from each lot holder will at once put us in a position to proceed with the work in the usual manner.
