The Middle Peninsula Chesapeake Bay Public Access Authority received a $255,000 grant to help it acquire 513.32 acres in King and Queen County to protect coastal and waterfront areas that contain significant ecological value.
Robinson-Baker’s Creek acquisition will provide underserved communities with recreational opportunities such as hunting, fishing, swimming and wildlife watching, according to a release from Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s office.
The King and Queen County project was part of $14.4 million in Virginia Land Conservation Foundation funding to conserve 11,220 acres around the commonwealth announced last week by the Governor’s office.
