Grandmother, granddaughter collaborate on exhibit

The opening for “Between Layers,” a collaborative exhibit by Rose Nygaard and Aprille Zammit, will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 3, at Arts on Main in Gloucester. The show will run through April 2.
Live music will be provided for this monthly First Friday event by Something Different, a father/daughter duo consisting of Brad Sindle and Ashley Wenner. They’ve been performing together at public and private events since 2013.
The exhibit is sponsored by Dr. Lourdes and Don Parker and Dr. Maricel Quintana Baker.
Nygaard and Zammit are a grandmother and granddaughter duo who are showing a collection of work together for the first time.
Nygaard, who lives in Gloucester, is an abstract expressionist painter and printmaker. Inspired by color, she primarily uses Golden and Liquitex acrylic paints to build layer upon layer of color in her paintings, monoprints, and collages. She graduated from American University with a Master of Fine Arts degree.
