Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Gloucester, will offer its traditional patriotic Independence Day Celebration in the church sanctuary at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4.
The celebration, now in its ninth year, will feature the fiddle music of 1776, patriotic standards for group singing such as The National Anthem, America, and America the Beautiful, a reading from the Declaration of Independence, a choral tribute to the Armed Forces, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, and God Bless America, the piano duet “Stars and Stripes Forever,” and the reading of Paul Harvey’s essay, “Our Lives, Our Fortunes, and Our Sacred Honor.”
The day’s festivities will close with a roll call of the signers of the Declaration of Independence and a live musket salute for all Patriots by Revolutionary War re-enactor Warren Deal.
