Grace Covenant to hold cantata Dec. 10

Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Gloucester, will present its Christmas cantata, “A New & Glorious Morn,” on Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. The composer is Lloyd Larsen, a musician from Minnesota.
This is a 40-minute composition performed by an expanded festival choir at the church and accompanied by a professional orchestra. This event is free and open to the public.
Grace Covenant has a long history of presenting a cantata during the Christmas season. This year’s selection contains several choral settings of some well-known carols, including “Rise Up, Shepherd and Follow”; “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” and “O Holy Night.” The cantata will also feature some Christmas hymns for everyone to sing along, including “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “Silent Night.”
Music Director John Peabody will lead the festival choir of over 20 voices and a 10-piece orchestra for this performance.
