Grace Covenant Presbyterian welcomes new pastor

Jesse Hill has been named the new pastor at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church on Gloucester’s Main Street, several months after the retirement of former pastor Doug Nagel.
“It seemed like an especially good fit,” said Hill about his new church.
Hill has spent the past several years in Canada leading a church in Hamilton, Ontario, where he helped people facing homelessness and various stages of addiction. During his time in Canada, he also worked with refugees.
The Hill family desired to move back to Virginia to be closer to family members. “This church wound up calling me,” said Hill.
Hill started in the church office on July 8 and delivered his first sermon on July 21.
“It’s a great sense of community and love here,” said Hill.
One of Grace Covenant’s strong suits is its commitment to children and families and Hill is excited to see that aspect of the church grow.
“Ministry to kids and young families is really thriving,” said Hill.
