Daniel Gade, Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate, will visit Gloucester and Mathews counties on Saturday.His visit is sponsored by the Gloucester and Mathews Republican committees. A release said the events are open to the public.
A meet and greet will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Gloucester at the DAV Chapter 58 Building, 6265 Professional Drive. A picnic fundraiser is scheduled in Mathews at the Piankatank Ruritan Club in Hudgins, starting at 5:30 p.m.
Gade, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, was nominated in a primary in June to face incumbent Democratic Sen. Mark Warner, who is seeking a third term.
A release said Gade served more than 20 years in the Army, and was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.
