Goodwin named PD Player of the Year

Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team member Cassidy Goodwin was named the Peninsula District Player of the Year following the district tournament.

Joining Goodwin on the All-Peninsula District first team were teammates Kayla Sadler, Katelyn Curtis, Courtnie Greene, Stacey Rhodes and Bri Greene. Tori Harwood and Taylor Caulfield were named to the second team and Susan Ortiz received an honorable mention.

Goodwin was also named to the All-Eastern Region First Team while Curtis and Sadler were named to the Second Team. All-region honorable mentions went to B. Greene, C. Greene and Rhodes.

 

The Dukes, who held the Peninsula District regular season championship with an unbeaten record, bested Kecoughtan, 4-1, on Oct. 24 to also earn the district tournament crown. Sadler scored twice in the win and Gloucester had goals by C. Greene and B. Greene. Harwood had two assists and assists came from C. Greene, Curtis and Rebecca Good.
