Jamestown Settlement’s Godspeed, a re-creation of one of the three vessels that brought America’s first permanent English colonists to Virginia in 1607, stopped overnight at Williams Wharf in Mathews on Monday while on a voyage to the Urbanna Oyster Festival, to be held this weekend, where it will be docked at Urbanna Town Marina, 210 Oyster Road. Among the staff and volunteers charged with crewing and maintaining the ship were, below from left, deck hands Cayce Egan and Jared Sapp, second mate Dan Uptmor, and chief mate Todd Egnor. The Godspeed will also participate in the Yorktown Tea Festival and Market Days’ Maritime Festival from Nov. 7-9.
