Abingdon Ruritan Club Public Services Committee chair Raven Cash, at left, presented a $1,000 donation recently from the club to Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society Executive Director Charles Brown. The mission of the GMHS is to improve life for all animals by providing temporary shelter, compassionate care, community support and education. The shelter is located at 6620 Jackson Lane, Gloucester, off Main Street and is always looking for foster care parents and volunteers to help exercise the animals.
