The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic will host its first in-person fundraising gala since 2019 on Friday, May 5. The nonprofit’s goal is to raise $100,000 to support patient care for uninsured and Medicaid patients in the region.
The Derby de Mayo, a mash-up of Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo festivities, will be held at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena. For locals who remember the Casino Night fundraiser hosted by GMCC in the past, this event will have some familiar favorites, as well as some new surprises.
“Our Casino Night was a fixture on the community social calendar for many years, and we hope to see those same supporters again for Derby de Mayo,” said GMCC Executive Director Arlene Armentor.
