The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic’s spring fund-raising gala returns this year with a nod to the organization’s Casino Nights of years past.
The second annual Derby de Mayo, GMCC’s largest event of the year, is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, at the Abingdon Ruritan Club, Bena. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available.
The event combines the thrills of the Kentucky Derby with food and drink typical of a Cinco de Mayo party—and this year, several casino games will be added for guests to enjoy, a release stated. Casino games vendor Joe Massino provided entertainment for the Gloucester-Mathews community for years and is returning for another GMCC fundraiser. In addition to casino games, virtual horse racing will take place.
A DJ, Derby hat contest, and raffle prizes will round out the evening’s entertainment. Upscale Mexican-inspired fare will be provided by personal chef and caterer Brian Marshall.
