Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic was recognized by statewide nonprofit Rx Partnership for its role in providing free prescription medication to 179 patients this year, which represents more than 35 percent of the clinic’s patient population.
GMCC provides uninsured patients with medication to treat a variety of chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension through its connection with Rx Partnership. For two decades, GMCC and Rx Partnership have worked together to ensure that patients have the critical medication needed to maintain and improve their health, without having to worry about the cost.
“Filling prescriptions can be costly and without the support of the clinic and Rx Partnership, we know many patients would go without essential medications,” said Amy Yarcich, Executive Director of Rx Partnership. “By making prescriptions available quickly and affordably, GMCC serves as an essential safety net for vulnerable patients.”
