Leaders from across the Gloucester, Mathews and King and Queen community got together on March 13 for the first Business of Caring Breakfast. Hosted by the Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, the event was held at the Abingdon Ruritan Club to increase awareness about the services offered at the clinic and to attract a new generation of supporters.
Stephanie Heinatz, CEO of Consociate Media, spoke about her experience as a war correspondent to emphasize the importance of details to a larger mission.
Nursing students from Rappahannock Community College volunteered to serve breakfast guests. Chesapeake Bank was the presenting sponsor.
The event concluded with a call to action—to donate, volunteer or share clinic information in the community. With more than 175 guests in attendance the community raised over $65,000 for GMCC patients and programs.
