With guidance from the Virginia Department of Health, the Gloucester-Mathews Care Clinic's Board of Directors and Casino Night Committee have made the decision to postpone its 15th annual Casino Night, which had been scheduled for Saturday, March 21, due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.
"We have done so out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of our staff, volunteers, stakeholders and community," a GMCC release stated.
"Although there is no current evidence of cases in the Gloucester-Mathews area, the GMCC supports the social distancing being encouraged, and in some cases mandated, to reduce the spread of this virus," the release continued
The GMCC hopes to reschedule Casino Night 2020 for sometime in the summer.
"As we endeavor to reach all those connected with this event, please help us by sharing this information. Your support of the clinic is more important now than ever before," the release stated.
