Gloucester welcomes Main Street professionals

Monday’s mobile tour of Gloucester’s Main Street was a success. Sponsored by the Gloucester Main Street Association, it was held to give Main Street professionals from across the country the chance to explore Gloucester and see ongoing improvement efforts.
The professionals took a day trip to Gloucester during the ongoing National Main Street Conference, which was held recently in Richmond.
Guests appeared to have had a good time as they toured Gloucester Court House throughout the day. GMSA Executive Director Jennifer Dutton Haggerty and Main Street Preservation Trust Interim Executive Director Elizabeth Blackney led guests along Main Street as they explored the downtown area.
The guests first got the opportunity to learn about the Main Street Center while looking on to the mural called, “Life & Legend of Pocahontas.” They visited The History of Gloucester and Highlights of Preservation.
