Gloucester supervisors and school board members held a work session Tuesday at the T.C. Walker Education Center.Deputy Superintendent of Schools Bryan Hartley went over the division’s capital improvement projects.
The Gloucester High School renovation is currently being focused on C Hall, maintaining the Career and Technical Education instructional areas. Hartley said that site work plans for the high school have been submitted to the county, adding that he hopes that it will be bid after the first of the year. The extended learning area in the school has been completed and has been outfitted with furniture. The students and staff have decided to call it the “The Courtyard.” He said that there are wastewater and drain water issues under that slab of the high school and that “we simply can’t go through this renovation project without fixing these under-slab issues.”
